Crowns and Bridges

At Appleton Dental Care, our goal is to help every member of your family achieve and maintain a healthy and beautiful smile for a lifetime.

Sometimes, that will require us to restore or repair a tooth for you. Our doctors use the highest quality dental materials to ensure that you receive restorations you can trust and rely on for many years.

Here are some of the options we offer if you should find yourself with a tooth in need of repair.

Dental Crowns

A crown is an ideal option for a tooth that has sustained fracture, injury, decay, infection, or breakdown of an older restoration that a dental filling can’t repair. It’s designed to replace your entire tooth, while protecting the integrity of your root.

Dr. Carlson or Dr. Giang-Carlson will create your crown so that it gives you all the function you had before, which means you’ll chew, talk, smile, brush, and floss with ease as you were used to. We also use high quality porcelain that we custom shade to match your existing teeth.

Dental Bridge

For a patient who is missing one or more adjacent teeth, a dental bridge can be a great option for restoring their smile.

A bridges uses porcelain crowns as anchors to healthy teeth with one or more prosthetic teeth attached to fill in the gap. Your bridge is custom shaded to complement your smile, and you can ensure its longevity by keeping your anchor crowns clean and healthy with regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups.

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants are also an excellent choice for replacing one or more teeth that are missing. Our doctors work closely with a trusted oral surgeon who will place your implant into your bone, and then we’ll give it ample time to heal. After the healing time has passed, your implant is fully integrated with your bone and becomes the foundation for your new tooth.

Dr. Carlson or Dr. Giang-Carlson will create a crown that will attach to your implant and restore your tooth. Not only will your new tooth function almost exactly like your natural tooth, your bone will be kept healthy and stimulated as your implant takes the place of your root.

Dental implants can also be used to support other dental prosthetics such as dentures or bridges.

Frequently Asked Questions

A crown is a custom-designed replica of your tooth that fits over your remaining tooth structure. It replaces your tooth, while also protecting your natural root. When your tooth suffers from a fracture, decay, infection, or injury that is greater than a dental filling can repair, our doctors might recommend a crown for you.

It typically takes two appointments to finish your crown. During your first appointment, we prepare your tooth for your permanent restoration and create a temporary crown for you to wear while your final crown is being fabricated at a dental laboratory. In 2 to 3 weeks, you’ll return to Appleton Dental Care to receive your permanent crown. Our doctors will place it and ensure that it fits properly and aligns correctly with your bite.

We’re committed to using the finest dental materials and working with the top dental laboratories in the area so you’ll receive a quality restoration you can rely on. We’ll also customize your new crown to complement your smile by matching your existing teeth so no one will notice your dental work.
